This. It may not be like our Jeeps of old but you know its a Jeep. And its great at what it was built for. I think that kinda sums up a Jeep, you know one when you see one and its good at what it does. That's why I hate people who don't consider a Cherokee a "real" Jeep. They give all these stupid reasons, it doesn't have round headlights, it doesn't have a removable top, etc. That's not what a Jeep's about. They're reliable, they're different, and they're good at what they do.

Funny, go on some of the other forums and the CJ/YJ/etc guys rag on us XJ, ZJ, WJ, etc owners and say all that. Good comparison, we all should just move on. At least they are still keeping the Cherokee name alive. Heavens knows in a couple more years the original Cherokees will no longer be around.

If the KL came in a V8 I would have probably bought it. That's just me.
But I can honestly say I enjoy driving it. But I have never owned another Jeep either.

I have the Trailhawk with the six. I drove a Limited with the four and just trying to get on the freeway I knew it wasn't for me. But I came from a V8 F150 and a twin turbo BMW.
If the KL came in a V8 I would have probably bought it. That's just me.
But I can honestly say I enjoy driving it. But I have never owned another Jeep either.

I've got the Trailhawk, with the 4-cyl. It's not going to win many races, but it does just fine. Get's up and goes on the freeway without issue. Gets great mileage around town. And 56:1 ratio... crawls along nicely over the rocks (rock rails are going to be my first mod though)

I have a question for those who own/driven one. I've sat in one at the local dealership but not test driven (I just can't stand car salesman...) , buy the time I had the seat far enough back to be comfortable (I'm 6') it seemed to have lousy forward visibility. The dash seems way to long but I was curious if it's just maybe I didn't play with the thing enough or if it's something you get used to as you drive. I'm finally in a position to make car payments again (not sure if I really want to or not...) and the KL is growing on me.

I think KL's are just fine as long as you wear mom pants while driving. Kidding.
I haven't cottoned to the newer Jeeps at all after they changed to the V6. Vehicles like the Wrangler Unlimited, the closest to the XJ IMO where towing capacity was downgraded was a big deal to me. I still have my XJ and love it but replaced it for daily driving with a vehicle that still had 5K towing capacity.
