Chrysler / Jeep are difficult

My father leased a 2014 Grand Cherokee August 2013. This past Thursday April 28th 2016 the serpentine belt shreds leaving me stranded. Jeep has exactly 7950 miles. Roadside assistance tows it to nearest Jeep dealer. It cost me $130 to get home. The next morning I call the dealership HillView motors in Greensburg PA and at first they tell me they doubt if they'll even get to look at it for a few days. Asked for a loaner or rental and they said they don't do it. When I spoke to the dealership where it was leased they said there was a bulleton issued by chysler that said rental vehicle would be provided for vehicles under warranty. The dealership that has the jeep claims there is no such thing. Chevy does it when they have your vehicle for more than a day. By the time I get my dads jeep back Ill be in it for $400+. The kicker is we can turn it in
26 May, You would think they would be licking there chops and bend over backwards to get a 3 year old garage kept jeep with 7950 miles and lease out another. The jeep literally still smells new. Anyone out there have any useful info that can help?

Call Fiat they control it all.

things like serpentine belt probably arent covered under warranty sadly. provided you have rental car re-imbursment on your insurance policy, they should cover it. If not, find the TSB about chrysler providing a loaner and take it in to the dealer.

Why don't you just get the part yourself, get the Jeep out of the Stealership and find a write up on putting the belt on yourself? Sounds like basic maintenance to me. I mean I hear your point about bad service and all, but priority is to get back on the road, and why spend that much when you could just buy a few tools, the belt and an hour or so of your own time. You obviously have access to the internet, I'm sure there are videos and write ups to swap a serpentine belt on a WK2...hell you don't even have one to remove so its half way done lol.

^This, sounds like a s**ty dealer. It sucks when your vehicle breaks down away from home and you have to deal with whatever the local dealers is (some are good and some not), unfortunately they know they have you over a barrel and if you don't live near them likely aren't concerned with any future business. Your best bet is to complain to Fiat/Chrysler, if it is coming off lease they should (no guarantees but it is your best bet) have reason to make you want to buy/lease another FCA vehicle.

I'm not sure what your engine is, but seriously, the part here is $22.

Call the original dealer that said there was a bulletin, have them email you the bulletin, take it to the dealer that has the Jeep now.

Hey Bill. I'm sorry to see you had a bad experience at your locale Jeep dealer. the Jeep guy for Route 1 Jeep in lawrenceville NJ right across the bridge from Pa. If you would like contact me I'm sure we can help you. we have some loaners and we rent with enterprise. Also I could help you get out of your lease early if you wanted to go into something else.
