Default Burningoil smell after oil change 2015 Cherokee 3.

Changed the Oil and Filter for the 3rd time a couple weeks ago. No problem, except I spilled a little new oil down the front of the engine, I wiped it off the best I could, telling my wife not to be alarmed at a burning oil smell for a couple oif days as the oil burned off the exhaust manifold. Now it is two weeks later and still smell the burning oil from the front of the engine. I have continued to try and wipe off more oil, without much luck. Very tight between the engine and radiator etc. I checked the oil filter housing and it is dry? What is the correct torque for the oil filter housing? Yes I replaced the rubber o ring when changing the filter. Oil level is OK. Any Ideas or suggestions?

Thanks
