Default Check if my Cherokee Trailhawk has some options like cold weather group etc

Hey All,
Some time ago I realized that the only car I want is Cherokee Trailhawk. However, there are only Latitude and Limited trims available in my country, so I decided to buy used Trailhawk in US. I bought one damaged with hail on salvage auction remotely. I absolutely don't care about dents cause there will be some new ones soon, but the windshield glass is broken and I have to replace it. I'd like to order the glass before my 2016 Cherokee arrives, but I'm not sure if it has a heated windshield or not, all I have is some not too detailed photos of the car. Can someone please tell me what's the difference between windshields with this option and without it and how to check if my Cherokee has this option or not. I tried to decode my VIN by this awesome tool https://www.cherokeeforum.com/vindecoder.php and there's no heated windshield option in equipment list. However, then I input another VIN of Cherokee Limited and heated windshield is not listed there either while heated steering wheel is there. It seems that VIN decoder never shows this option even if it's present, so I'm still not sure which windshield to order. Any help will be highly appreciated. )

Run your VIN number here: https://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/...etServlet?vin=

Where it says vin= , just put your VIN number (capital letters for the letters, as it's VERY particular). There used to be a way to get your original window sticker as well, but not anymore, at least not easily. The build sheet gives you more detailed information, though.

Thank you, equipment list is very detailed. Does my Cherokee have all the equipment listed in "optional equipment" block or it MAY have that equipment?

Funny related story. When I was speaking with the dealer when buying my Jeep, tehy said it didn't have the Cold Weather package and explained that it was priced accordingly. I was used to seeing physical switches for seat heaters so I thought nothing of it. Later that evening, in the midst of a snowstorm, I used the remote start to fire up the Jeep. As I was driving, the steering wheel began to heat up (auto programmed with the remote start). You guessed it, this Jeep has the cold weather package!!!!

SCORE!!!!

I sure wish you luck on that Cherokee you have being shipped to who only knows where. And there are no heated windshields for the Cherokees. If you are getting the trailhawk or one of the other ones with the electrical up to the mirror though, that is, I believe different than a basic latitude one. The elite package comes with the all of the cold weather package except for the plug in.

My 2014 trailhawk has the heated windshield. It's defroster strips under where the wipers park.

The heated seat and steering wheel switches on newer Jeeps are (frustratingly) located in the 'Controls' section of the touchscreen... I wish I had physical switches on my '14 Grand Cherokee (WK2)... I used to have another '02 Grand Cherokee (WJ) and an '05 Grand Cherokee (WK) with the heated seats (no heated steering wheel, my '14 WK2 has that), and of course both had physical switches, so I kinda got used to it... same with all the vent settings which are buried within the 'Climate' section of the touchscreen... no more physical buttons for that either... my '02 WJ I own now (pictured, to left) has the old school manual dials and buttons... like them better.

Thanks for explanations. I'm about to receive my Trailhawk in few days finally and I'm still not sure if it has defroster strips on the windshield under the wipers? A very simple question is: is it possible that my Cherokee has heated seats and steering wheel, but doesn't have those defroster strips?

The heated seats, heated steering wheel, windshield wiper de-icer, remote start, and some other bits came together in the Cold Weather Group Package. If your KL has that group, then you have all of those features.
