2019 2.0 Recall
June 15, 2018 — Fiat Chrysler is recalling 14 model year 2019 Jeep Cherokees that are missing valve stem keepers that can allow the valves to drop into the engine cylinders.
This will cause damage to the 2-liter engines, but the automaker also says the engines may have reversed camshaft caps that will damage the camshaft bearings and cause complete camshaft failures. Chrysler says the 2019 Jeep Cherokee recall will begin July 14, 2018. Jeep dealers will repair or replace the affected engine components, but owners with questions may call 800-853-1403. Chrysler's recall number is U52. |
More than likely NOT a problem. See https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f87/20...stions-244992/

2019 - 14 engines were recalled. Not a problem for 99% of 2019 Cherokees. . |
According to an FCA contact that speaks with my son, this was for a total of 14 units which never left the factory. They had assigned VINs, so per NHTSA regs, FCA has to issue a recall despite the fact that none of these units left the factory. It's a formality.
