Default 2016 Cherokee won't start on 1st try

I have a 2016 Cherokee Limited. Within the last 6 months or so I started having issues where it won't start on the 1st try. I noticed when it fails to start, the ignition goes back to the "off" position. It's sporadic so of course when I took it to the garage, it started right up for the mechanic. This morning it took me 5 tries to get it to start and a little bit ago it started on the 3rd try. I have tried doing some research online and I keep reading about the fuel pump. I have also been told by a friend that there is a sensor in the brake and that could be causing it.

On a side note...I have my Ipod hooked up via the usb port. I noticed when it fails to start, it pauses the ipod. So not sure if that means its electrical?

Does anyone have any ideas? This is very frustrating.

Thanks in advance!

Hi jeepchick85

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN, contact information and dealership's name.

If your Jeep is under warranty, it should be fixed free of charge by your dealer. If your dealer fails to find a problem, just keep going to different dealers until one finds the problem and fixes it.
