2015 Cherokee in for slipping and hard shifts again yesterday and dealer told after reflash they had to keep it overnight. Called them today and was told they have to do another update and keep it over night again. Why do they keep it over night to flash the trans? If I need a replacement they said they have to keep it until the new trans comes it. I do not under stand why the can't let me take the jeep until they get the new trans in stock.
Any one else have this problem? I think the dealer does not know what they are doing

My brother in-law had this or a similar issue with his trailhawk and I'm pretty sure they replaced the trans. He hasn't had any issues since the replacement. Also, they would be taking on a ton of liability if there was a known transmission issue and they let you roll off the lot with it. If it went out at a point where it caused a crash or further damage to the Jeep, they could be liable.

Best I can say is try and be patient and good luck! Hopefully it'll be quick and painless for you.
