Default My dog chewed 2014 Cherokee Shifter ****

Yes, you read that right. My 8 month old large breed puppy chewed the shifter **** on my 2014 Cherokee! Argggg! The shifter and transmission work fine, however, the leather is torn away and the plastic on the top has gashes from gnawing.

My dear husband has purchased an OEM shifter **** and it did not come with instructions to remove and replace the damaged one. Could someone be kind enough to offer a how-to tutorial?

Thank you!

I would think there's a screw somewhere that holds the **** on, but I can tell you it does NOT thread on from what I can tell.

You must have a Lab or a Golden, they love to chew--
Sorry about your shifter, at least you've got a replacement ready.

Default Did you find a fix?

Hey,
I just ordered a replacement shifter as well. We’re you able to figure out how to remove it? I have read that you just pull down on the silver ring that holds the leather boot in place and then there is an Allen screw to hold the **** in place. Would like to know for sure before i replace mine.
