XJ Owner in Santa Fe Finally Realizes What He Has
Howdy Y'all,
Here's our 93 Cherokee Sport 4.0L
We've had this great little Jeep for over 10 years now and I never really thought about fixing it up. It's always been so darn reliable on it's own.
But, recently I noticed all these Jeep communities online and started reading and discovered what a gem we have.
Now I've got the fever. I've started fixing everything... there's a lot to fix. But, as soon as I've got some of the repairs out of the way I'm just itchin' to get started modding this mother.
I'm glad you guys are here. I hope y'all enjoy watching me make this thing into some kind of offroad spaceship. hehe

Welcome to the site. I've been picking away at all the small things that needed attention on my ZJ. Put new headlights in, new grill, new hood release cable, new radiator hoses. Need a new radiator and water pump soon.

Update on the Upgrades
JeepJeep, that's what I call her. Like that little popeye alien thing says, tahat they made us watch as kids.
JeepJeep, had her catalytic convertier and muffer swapped for aftermarket stuff, the CC and oem direct fit (bad choice) and the muffler a Thrush turbo. (good choice). Now I just need a bigger tailpipe so I'm not going down to 2" from 2 /4". Can I just stick a straight pipe out a foot or so after the muffler or do I need all that bendy stuff?
So, check this out.. Our brilliant mechanic tells us the knocking is because of the old CC. Well, it was still knocking.. I finally solved it thankfully with something from this awesome forum.

Then I drained the power steering and flushed it. After some bleeding it's almost like new again. A long cry from the messed up sloshy mess my wife had let it get to.
Oh, and I checked the transfer case fluid since it's been leaking between the halves. I filled it up but I'll have to find the time to figure out how to take the thing off and apart soon.
I also installed a hotsabi but I don't have any data for that yet.
Overall, the wife says she seems to be getting better mileage so far but we need to test it. To me it sounds a lot closer to how it sounded when we first got it!
There's just a sort of a very slight tapping out of place in the header area that seems to need adjusting...
