Howdy, I am in the process of returning to Northern Michigan.
I just bought a house with 20 acres and a Cherokee to deal with the snow.

I have had a few 4x4 trucks when I lived up here as a kid but this is my first jeep.

I started the search for a good reliable (but dirt cheap) snow beast.
Lurked here for research and tapped some jeep buds for info.

I ended up with a '98 Sport 4.0 5 speed, 93K. I have spent a very many years playing with (breaking) VW, Porsche, BMW and as of late blown Mustangs (AutoX, track events etc.). So I have a solid mechanical eye.

I changed the oil and put new shocks on the back runs like a top. I took it on a 500 mile shakedown cruise with zero issue.

I love a good forum and hope to eventually add a little data as I will certain learn a lot here!
