Uh oh, Newbie post...
Hello from a Western WA newbie! Completely new to Jeeps too, most of my need for thrills has been satisfied with sportbikes over the years. Sold my Kawi to buy a Cherokee (and pay some bills), so maybe wheelin will be the new thrill for me.
Been lurking around here quite a bit while I shopped. You guys (and gals) helped me A BUNCH in sifting through XJ information, and I'm very happy so far with the XJ I finally bought a mere 3 days ago. She's a 92, Laredo pkg, with 142K on the clock, and is amazingly clean for a nearly 18 year old truck! First thing I found was a big fat envelope of receipts for what appears to be every single thing ever done to this Jeep. Score!! Yesterday I entered all the data in a spreadsheet, and this Jeep has had about 5 grand worth of work done to it in just the last 2 years. Just last year she got all new brakes, T/C seals, tranny service, water pump, idler pulley, hoses & belts, the list goes on. Double score!!
The tires are totally shot, no biggie since I'd like to put on better ones anyway. (Maybe that'll give me an excuse to look for a lift kit too!) I'm thinking the P.O. didn't want to sink even MORE money into her, so she got traded in instead of getting re-shod.
Anywho, y'all will see me around here asking questions. And maybe on the trails. Cheers! (Mandatory pics follow, if I did it right...)
