trying to change crankshaft sensor
 

I am trying to install a new crank sensor in 2001 Cherokee, finally got the old one out, incredibly difficult, but anyway, as I pulled out the old one I noticed it is magnetic, was sticking to metal, but the new one I got is not magnetic, does that mean it is no good? I don't want to install it and then have to take it out, thanks
