Default Totally new and need some Help?!?

heyya, i am totally new to driving just got liscence two months ago but i have always liked the jeep brand but more so the cherokee. I was wondering what is better in your opinion a 95 cherokee or 95 grand cherokee laredo (sp?). When i say better i mean in fuel effeciency, handling, acceleration, room and electrical. I really like the look of the cherokee but the grand is nice too. its a jeep so its all good in the long run. oh and does anyone now the ways to hooking up a sound system in either vehicle, it wont be soon but just good to know. Thanks

Welcome from W.V., they both have there pro's and con's, I dont think either one has a problem area that is better than the other. I'd say test drive them both and you'll know.

Welcome from Va. The Grands are usually plusher and are larger inside. When I bought mine I test drove several XJ's and I personally liked the ZJ because of the roominess and I also liked the ride better.

Welcome from Illinois.

Well.. To be brutally honest. My Cherokee is a tank.. everyone I have owned was built like a tank. They just drove and drove. Basic maintence is all they ever needed. Plenty of power, and a nice firm ride.

My Grand, yes the ride is better. But its a MUCH heavier vehicle and feels like it. It gets worse fuel milage, and the interior electronics are the bane of them. They are well known to have all sorts of interior electronics problems. But having a V-8 does have its advantages. Nothing sounds quite like one.

Welcome from Deep South Texas. The XJ is a lighter less well appointed vehicle but gets better fuel mileage and has advantages off road as it's size lends itself more to narrow trails than the larger GCs. Depending upon your intended usage either will be a great vehicle.

You will like the Cherokee more when it comes time to Mod and fix easier and cheaper. XJ should be plenty big enough. I have seen some Huge XJ owners that love them lol.

FWIW, I was 6'5" and 350 lbs, now I weigh 255 lbs. At my biggest I still fit in just fine, it's a little roomier now for sure though!!
