Soon to be new Jeep Owner
Tomorrow I am going to be the new owner of a free 2000 Jeep Cherokee. It was my wife's grandfathers car that he bought new but no longer needs because he stopped driving. From what I've heard, it was a base model and has issues with the A/C and the radio doesn't work. The engine is supposed to run well and they apparently kept it in good shape with regular maintenance. I joined the forum in preparation of the repairs that I'll need to do and the many questions I'm sure I'll have. My current car is a PT Cruiser and has had timing issues ever since getting the belt replaced after it broke while driving. I'm going to try to sell it and use that money to pay for what I need for the Jeep.

I picked it up today and it is actually a 1999 with 193k miles. Engine ran great and it drives smooth. I'll make a post in one of the other sections with a few of the things I noticed wrong. Hopefully I will have time this weekend to at least do an oil change.

He bought the car new and it still had the original sale paperwork so it is definitely a 1999. My wife thought it was a 2000.
