Rescued 87 XJ in GA
Couple weeks ago I found an old XJ in pretty rough shape on the good old Craigslist. Went to check her out and despite engine components sitting in the front seat, it wasn't too bad. With a clean title I made a deal and took her home for $250.
After starting some work, I found out the wiring was shoddy and half assed fixed... nearly burned the thing down.
Still for $250, I regret nothing. I've been on here pretty much everyday since I picked it up figuring stuff out.
Anyhoo, it's an 87 with the 4.0, 4x4, with 5 speed. Don't think there's anything special about the axles (35 in the rear I think) but I'm looking forward to the project.

nice score.
you will most likely have a d35 non c-clip axle in the rear. although most d44 jeep axles were in the 87 model year.
