Re-introduction to the XJ community
Recently getting involved in the XJ community again. My name is Bryan and I live in downeast Maine
In 2000 I got a new Cherokee sport and loved it. I was admin for Jeepsunlimited at the time and an active member of NAXJA, went to Cherokee Crawl and whatnot. At 120k I was hit and totaled the Cherokee. Replaced it with a TJ for a couple of years, but missed my Cherokee. Bought an 01 in phenomenal physical condition with 209k and a cracked head for $700. Brand new long block and she was a strong runner again. It now has 275k on it (total odo)and I've replaced the brakes, booster, ac comp, water pump, battery, t-stat, cps, nss, tires, the usual things that crap out over time.
I'm still in love with it and XJs in general, from their aesthetics to the way they just eat up deep snow. I'm not big into heavy modifications - no need for me - but I hope to drive this classic vehicle for a long time. I just pulled the trigger to redo the whole suspension, control arms, bumpstops, leafs, coils, shocks, and everything with a bushing on it. Looking forward to reviving this portion of it and tightening up the ride. I'm glad there is still a strong community of likeminded folks who appreciate this things. Looking forward to contributing a little and getting great assistance from everyone.

Welcome aboard. That's a sharp looking XJ.
I did the same thing. I bought a new XJ in 1990 and drove it for 5 years. I bought an '89 XJ last year with less miles on it than my original one had when I sold it. After all the years I'm sure everything came back to you right away! It did for me.

Its feels so good to be back.
In the past couple of years, I've done significant work on a VW Eos and a Honda CRV and they were fine, but something about XJs...
Today I replaced the front coils, the LCAs, sway bar bushings. next week is the leafs.
These vehicles just seem so simple and obvious.
