Re-introduction
Hi Everyone,
2 or 3 weeks ago I came on here and introduced myself, told a short story about what I wanted to get and what I wanted to do with it, and why I like the XJ. Well, Wednesday night I went out and bought one. It's a 1990 XJ 4x4/6cyl. It's got mud terrain tires on what appears to be wheels from some other jeep model. It drives smoothly, the suspension is in decent shape and the 4x4 works. Thats about the only good. The bad is - Paint is awful, has rust, drivers fly window is siliconed shut, power door locks don't work, power seats don't work, carpet is nasty, floorboard on drivers side has rust, AC don't work, The gas gauge doesnt work - found that out as i pulled into my neighborhood and it sputtered out. Anyway, I got it for $1300 and now the project begins.
Step 1: Clean it
Step 2: figure out everything wrong with it
Step 3: fix what was found
Step 4: make it ready for the zombie apocalypse
Step 5: get it dirty and break it
I'll be on to pick your brains and see who's doing what. Wish me luck.
