A quick introduction and a question

I've owned some sort of XJ for the past 15 years. This is my 6th one, it's primarily a beach/fishing buggy. 3" Rusty's lift with spring packs, lower arms and transfer case drop. The 31's are currently on stock 15" Jeep wheels, it's a pretty tight fit under the 3" lift. The rims pinch the tires a bit, I would like to go wider on the rims but I'm afraid they'll start rubbing. Anyone with a similar setup that could offer some advise?Attachment 149831

Hi and welcome, I have 3" lift with 31"bfg mud tyres they were on stock wheels I have since replaced with 8x15 steel D windows Zero offset so my reckoning 4" backspace, only rubbing was large turns, at the base of the front wheel arch plastic at the rear side of tyre.
All I did was trim a small piece off with sidecutters now no rubbing.

I hate to say it but if you wanna keep stock rims use wheel spacers. I don't like them, but they do their job.

WJ lower control arms also help, and are beefier.

I don't want to push them out with spacers, I just don't like the look of a 10" tire on a 7" rim. I was considering an 8X15 or even a 10X15 rim. My main concern is it's a Limited, the front bumper has fog lights and looks lower and wider than the bumper on my 96. I'm thinking even a 0 offset 10" wide rim would push the fronts too far out.

A wider wheel, or one with more negative offset, will probably cause the tires to rub.
Nice looking Jeep.
