Potential Cherokee crawler owner. Need encouragement.
Ok guys Ive been cruising the site for about a month and it looks like a great site with TONS of info to learn from. My father in law introduced me to the crawling world and have been looking for a project ever since. I stumbled across this jeep and I think its a killer deal. I just want to make sure Im not missing anything and want to know what to look for when I go look at it this Sunday. here is a rundown of what it is.
1988 Jeep Cherokee (not street legal, bill of sale only)
Rubion express long arm lift kit
(5) 36" iroks and Mickey Thompson wheels
full internal roll cage
Corbeau seats in front with harnesses
Dana 30 in front with detroit locker
Dana 44 in rear spooled
4.0 straight 6, automatic
9000# superwinch
He says it is in good mechanical shape and would only need a power steering pump to be trail ready again.
here are some pics, its not pretty but its a crawler so it shouldnt be lol
I figured even if the motor and tranny locked up the first day i took it out, i could still part it out and get my money back easy.
EDIT* So what do yall think it is worth? Thanks

that's a hard call, there are a lot of parts and stuff on it worth a few bucks. I guess it depends on your financial situation. most of the toy trucks or projects I've bought I've limited myself to a $500.00 purchase price for the vehicle due to the expense of building it. if it's going to be a DD of course the cost is much greater due to it having to be reliable right out of the gates.

Im actually trading him a built AR-15 that I never use. I work at a gun store so I only have about $1000 invested in it. It would cost 2K to built it at msrp.

yeah I have a Sig Sauer .45 so it fits!
Picked it up yesterday and it works great! It does need a battery and the power steering is leaking fluid, but when I got home we drove it around for about an hour on some tight trails at low speeds and it never got hot at all or missed a beat. I will post up some pictures later.
