Hey yall this is a possible intro more for advice first i am scheduled to go today to look at and possibly buy my first jeep... FINALLY!! lol Its a 90 Cherokee Laredo 4wd 160k+ according to the guy and pictures only problem is there is some rust on the driver side and front cv joints are poppin. HOWEVER... ITS ONLY 400 and i aint even payin that gonna give him my xbox 360 and 200 so is it worth it?? Just wondering if maybe 90 is a good year or bad year or anything to keep my eye out for when i go to look at it. I really appreciate it yall and hope to be a official jeep owner by days end.

Well i just bought myself a 1991 xj lerado and it turned out to be a great vehicle so far,I would just check thet the transmission shifts out ok and the motor sounds good,I woulden't be to worried about the popping front end,Just make sure if you can that it's the axle jooints and not the trxfer case..But even if it is a heep thet runs and drives for 400.00,You can afford to at least invest a little more to get it up and running,Check all the fluids..Like the oil make sure it does not look like a milk shake as this could be a sign of serious engine trouble..Good luck!

yeah no i know all the basics and a little more forgot to mention used to work for a dodge chrysler jeep dealer. But yeah i figured for what its gonna cost me to get i cant beat it i will test it for a few days worst comes to worst instead of sellin my dakota i will keep it and make cherokee into a mud toy. Im sure my apartment complex would love me more for that! LOL

so i dont think i will be a jeep owner just yet went and looked at it and the front and rear quarters where very very rusted rockers were rusted then covered by a very thin piece of sheet metal. the overall frame looked ok but a few spots in the floor pans. However biggest problem was a ungodly popping from the front end at any speed going straight or turnin and 1000 times worse when in 4wd however turns out the front axle isnt cv style its u joints so i just dont know if i really wanna buy it i was lookin more for a everyday driver that needed a little bit of work.

so anyone got any opinions do i spend the 400 and get it and just fix it up or offer less or do i just wait for something better? what are the chances of the front end being something expensive
