Default Not only new to this forum but new to jeeps

So as the title says I am new to jeeps. I picked up a 92 XJ with an OLD SCHOOL long arm 5" kit. I was told that it had lockers front and rear and was a CRAZY wheeling machine. WELL... not true. I have been off roading for a long time but I am a Toyota guy. I have built a lot of Toyotas. (if interested I can put up some pics of my old rigs) Anyways I NEVER thought I would own a jeep. But I traded my built bobbed suburban for this 92 xj. Anyway a few things I am in the process of doing my rock sliders, sub frame connectors, and boat sides. I am a machinist by trade so I have been building my parts. I have spoken with a few jeep guys and I think I am going to redesign the long arm kit to make it work right. right now it has zero flex. this weekend I am going to disconnect the front sway bar to see if that helps. I am also going to trim my wheel wells to allow the 33s without rubbing. I also need to go through the front end it makes some awful noise. I want to upgrade the steering but I have not done enough research to know what I am doing yet. anyways enough for now. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment

Nice XJ bro! Provided you can get the suspension flexing right, I really like how that sits on a 5" lift.

What plans do you have in the future for it?

When I traded my burban it was without my wheels and tires. (I had BRAND NEW 37" pit bull rockers on bead locks) so I told him I would give him rollers if he would give me rollers. The tires and wheels I picked up for free. They are kinda rock rashed and the tires are old school mud hogs (no good in the snow). The plan is to pick up a set of 33-12.50-15 BFG KM2's. The long arm kit that is on it is an old school style long arm that retains the stock upper link. I am going to use the rustys offroad long arm design using upper arms that run to the long arm lowers. I am not sure about the springs yet. The front uses stock springs (I think) with a puck spacer. The rear are stock also (I think) with a block. I will have to see how it performs with the sway bar disconnected. I have no long term plans as of now. I was just tired of not being able to get to the trail. I am in the process of building a buggy out of an 85 runner. If anyone is interested I can give the specks of that.
