Just bought a Jeep Cherokee. My wife had one years ago and I always wanted one for me. I held out for a 5-speed manual and finally found one.
So, I found what I wanted in a '95 model that was too cheap to pass up. It's an all stock 4.0 Cherokee with a 5-speed manual. It doesn't have anything on it that Jeep didn't put there at the factory. I don't know how far into mods I'll get, but I did buy it as a project. I'm big into kayak fishing and I plan to use it for camping, fishing, and playing, BUT it's also gonna be my everyday commuting vehicle, too.
I already have lots of questions. Already looking forward to getting my own Jeep. Can't wait to go 4 wheeling!!
My first question is about the XJ specification. What makes a Cherokee an XJ?? As far as I know, the one I bought doesn't have that anywhere on it.
Here it is, a place to start. A blank canvas. I'm already rubbing my hands together and laughing in sort of an evil, mad scientist way.

Jeep has a lot of letter models...a wrangler can be a yj(square headlights), a tj, or jk. Cherokees are xj, and grand Cherokees are zj or wj and the. There is the cj
