Hello everyone, my name is Daniel and I have recently entered the world of Jeeps. I Just bought a 1987 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with 234k miles. It needs much TLC but overall isnt in too bad of xondition. It does currently have the elusive "death wobble" but i believe it to be caused from a worn drag link and tie rod ends. You can literally grab them and move them so thats where I'll start. The previous owner states it has a 3in lift but im not too sure, as I'm new to the whole 4x4 scene. I plan on this being my DD and occasional weekend warrior for trail riding, hunting, etc. My plans are for the XJ are as follows
-Fix Death Wobble
-Replace all suspension bushings
-New Power steering pump
-Upgraded front tie bar
-Adj. track bar
-Refresh on complete drivetrain
-Fix AC (its Alabama, its a must)
-Fix interior cosmetic issues.

I have already done a backyard front alignment, it was about 1.5in toe-in and i have it close to 1/8th in now. I also have checked the tq on most bolts and adjusted as needed.

If anyone has any suggestions on anything please let me know. I appreciate any future help from my fellow XJ'ers and I hope I can help in return.

thanks for he info. I have read many write ups on the causes of DW. Like I stated earlier My tie rod ends are all extremely worn and full of play so that's where ill be starting. There is also a drop bracket on my track bar so I'll be purchasing an adjustable one, I have read they can sometimes do more harm than good.
