Newish XJ Owner in MD
Hi guys my name's Jesse and I've owned my XJ for a year now and just finally did a lot of work on it so I figured I ought to make a post on here. I'm a long time TJ Wrangler owner since high school and when the motor crapped out I had to find a new daily driver while trying to find a replacement engine. I got a great deal on this XJ so it was a no brainer. I've always wanted one and I really love it!
Outside of the regular maintenance there were a couple things wrong with it. The leafs were saggy, all four shocks dead, and it had Radial TAs on it. The only way to solve these problems is obviously to do a big *** lift and tires. I'll leave you with a before and after photo. For reference I'm 6' tall and there are a few things still to be buttoned up on the lift when the picture was taken. It's just to show the crazy difference in ride height! I'll add some more pictures and maybe do a little write up on the lift and installation when I get the time.
The lift is a 4.5 inch Rough Country X Series and the tires are 32x11.50 Goodyear MTRs around some old American Racing 15x8 Steelies I had. I'm planning to either get some new alloys on it or get some wheel spacers and mount up the TJ Canyons that came on the Jeep.
