Good evening all, just bought my first XJ. 2000 sport four door, 200,000 miles. Previous owner had the head gasket replaced 6000 miles ago, has seven years worth of previous service records. Seems to be in good shape but wondering what I should be looking at to start off making this a daily driver?
Curious if just the head gasket or the head gasket and head were replaced.
Easy stuff first.
Fluid swaps and maybe flush the radiator.
Thinking check all your hoses and maybe consider doing a thermostat.
Check all your grounds. Googling it will tell you which ones you care about and where they are.
Check your flex plate bolts.|
Check motor and tranny mounts.
Drive it and go from there.

Looking through the service records looks like the honed the surfaces and reused the same head. And yes sir I plan to change all the fluids. Thanks for the reply and the list of check items. I look forward to getting to know this jeep.
