Newbe In California
I'm kind of a newbe to this forum (several posts) and I'm enjoying being a part of it. I have seen a bunch of great pictures of some great looking rigs posted here too.
Most of my past Jeeping has been with full size V8 Jeep's. I have owned a 76 and 78 Cherokee Chief's and several J series pickups including a 76 401 J10 that I desert raced. My tow vehicle was a 77 (8400GVW) J20 with a healthy 401. I also had a CJ8 (Scrambler) with a built 401. Before the desert racing I spent about 9-10 years racing dirt track stock cars.
As far as XJ's go I (actually my wife) had an 87 Limited. I had a super clean 90 Larado which I recently gave to my 18 year old nephew (his first Jeep). I currently have a 91 XJ Limited that I picked up in January 2010.
I recently finished putting on a 3" Rancho lift, with Edelbrock IAS Resi. shocks, along with some lower arms that I built using Rubicon spherical ball ends. I will be getting some 31" tires for it right after the first of the year. Future projects will be, installing a 99 4.0L intake, headers, and a cold air intake. Also will be installing a Dana 44 that I just picked up at Pick-A-Part. Just need to go through it (bearings, brakes, seals, Etc.), and install the Power-loc in it. I'm sure I will be adding to that list as time goes on.
I will probably be asking a lot of questions about the 4.0, so I hope you guys don't get tired of me. If I can help anyone with Jeep V8 stuff please let me know. Oh yeah, I also have a bunch of full size Jeep parts that I would like to get rid of if anyone here has a FSJ.
Thanks for looking!!
Dennis

Welcome to CherokeeForum!
Do you have any pics of the 78 Chief you had/ have?
I once owned one myself and LOVED it. It was my first Jeep, 4x vehicle and got it all started for me.

Yes, I do have some pics of it. I have never been able to figure out how to post pictures on forums, so if you would like to send me an e-mail address I would be glad to send some pics of it to you.
Thanks

Click the pic, and it'll show you the Share option. Click that. Then click the get link code tab. Where it shows IMG for bulletin boards and forums, under that, the top one-full size- click that. Left click that it'll turn blue. Put the "I" over that, then right click Copy. Go to where you want it displayed, then right click and Paste should be highlighted. Left click and it will be posted.
I'm not comp. savy so my explanation may not be the best but it'll work. Give it a try.
