Default New to XJs. Ohio

Name Is Shane and I'm from NW Ohio. Not only am I new to the XJ I'm also fairly new to 4wd in general so I'll have a lot to learn. I work at the KL plant and I DD an 02 Dodge Ram SLT. I also have an 06 Honda cbr600rr. I've been lurking for awhile while figuring out if I wanted an XJ or not but I'm purchasing a 96 Cherokee sport tomorrow for 750 bucks. She's a little rough but it'll work for what I want. Needs u joints and HCV(may bypass it) also the rear door small windows are busted. She needs a little tlc. I just want a mild trail rig that I can still drive to work and back in while having fun with it. I'm thinking 6" and 33s? I will add pics when photobucket wants to cooperate.

I'm still in the research stage but I was looking at either a 4.5 rustys with 33s or a long arm 6. I don't want to get to the point of regret where I wish I would gone bigger.

Picked this girl up at 1pm today. Changed out the battery terminals(he said it kept stalling. You will see why. Lol) and bypassed the heater control valve. Runs pretty good. Exhaust needs work and both mirrors need replaced. Along with the small rear windows and a rear wiper arm. Gonna do the u joints and flush the coolant/oil change tomorrow. I had to come into work. I have 850 into it as it sits. Name: 17F2089C-948B-4FA9-B425-3669EC61F734.jpg

Hey, I just purchased my first jeep and my first 4x4... Mine cost nothing as I traded my 88 GMC Sierra longbed strait up. My wife has owned several XJs as she grew up with them. (I had the same experience with growing up Astro/Safari Van) This is "Our Car" and its going to stay pretty much stock... I live in NToledo Ohio, so we can get together and be perplexed together lol.

Heres what I traded, Ol gertie my 88 Sierra 305 with 250k+
