New to the XJ world!
Hello! I am no stranger to this site and have been reading threads here for about a year, however I have just recently picked up my first cherokee! It is a 2001 SE model which was previously owned by the state of oregon. The plan is to build her up to be a mild trail/adventure vehicle but will still be my daily driver so i want it to remain reliable and very much road worthy.
The long 10 hour drive home, but well worth it!
Got her home and got straight to cleaning her up.
After cleaning she got all new fluids. Engine oil, Tranny fluid, t-case fluid, front and rear diffs, flushed power steering system, and flushed cooling system and replaced all radiator and heater hoses.
Like many others, my console bracket was broken. Got plated with aluminum from the bottom and JB welded up. Also replaced the gauge cluster to get rid of dummy lights.
Next up was to polish up the outside, get it tinted(20% on all back windows and 35% up front), and shampoo the already spotless carpets.
Noticed a small leak at the rear of engine... you guessed it, rear main seal. Made sure everything was nice and clean before going back together. Don't want to have to redo that one!
Now that she's mechanically perfect, ill be driving it around for a couple months before upgrading suspension, wheels, tires, and bumpers. Stay tuned for a build thread!

Ah, I remember when mine was that clean. Welcome to the XJ life and to the forum! Really like that you did soo much maintenance before mods, definitely the right way to go.
