Jeep Cherokee Forum - New XJ Owner in Palm Beach, FL

Proud owner of a new-to-me 97 XJ Country Edition 2wd. I needed something cheap and utilitarian to get me a 20 mile round trip a day. The XJ fit the bill. 133k Miles and been in the same family since new. Engine and tranny are strong, pulls hard right when braking. AC blows moderately cool and the rear hatch doesn't open. Slight bit of cancer over the left rear of the hatch. Overall I think it was a decent buy for $2200. The most important factor for me was the engine and tranny, and they sound and feel great. That's my story. Thoughts, opinions?
