I recommended this XJ to my Dad 20 yrs ago now it's mine, exactly as planned. He put 128,000 miles on it as a grocery getter. Now the fun begins, yesss. Imma drive the wheels off this thing. I just spent about $10,000 on it all bone stock to get it ready to be super reliable.

It's been three years now and wow, this thing is unbelievable. It will go anywhere, Ive been from Florida to California twice in the Donkey and wheeled like a madman everywhere I can find. Me and the Donkey were on top of a parking garage right in the eye of that Fort Myer hurricane too, cleanest it's ever gotten. I'm a huge fan of bone stock in general but I can't stop thinking about mods, sigh. It's enough work just keeping up with repairs. I'd love to get the keyless and overhead display thing working again. There's a little eletronic board that got damaged when the leaky sunroof disintegrated the ceiling liner and overhead console, need to learn how to do upholstry at some point.

 

Trick is to upgrade any parts that need replacement anyway, so it's like getting mods for free!

 

Now that is an excellent idea.
