New to the XJ..
Greetings, I just bought my first XJ 3 weeks ago. A moss green pearl 00' Sport with 109k on the clock. My goal was to "refresh it".
Ive had a 90 Wrangler 6cyl, 07 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7, an 08 Grand Cherokee SRT-8, and an 06 Liberty Sport. Im pretty happy with Jeep products.
Thus far I have done the following:
ENGINE:
Valve cover gasket
Oil pan gasket
Rear main seal
O-rings in oil filter neck
Coolant flush /filled with Amsoil
Plugs / Cap / Rotor / Wires
Air filter
Oil filter
Thermostat
Shell Rotella T6
F/R O2 sensors
INTERIOR:
New carpet
New mats
Evaporator (at mechanic now)
Vapor cleaned interior
EXTERIOR:
Full paint correction
Removed and refinished door moldings
Painted wiper arms + new wipers (all 3)
Purchased Hella 550 amber fogs (I have amber fogs on every car)
IPF H4 lights
HID H4 35watt 4500k bulbs - DDM Tuning
Dent Doc PDR
Minor touch-up
New "used" steel OEM Sport wheels
Michelin LTX M/S tires
DRIVETRAIN:
Changed differential fluids to Amsoil
Changed gaskets and fill plugs on diffs
Changed transmission fluid to Amsoil
Changed transmission filter and pan gasket
So I am going to drive it like this for about a month to make sure its a solid car. If so, I'll be buying a 3" lift kit with rear springs and Bilstein shocks. Ill likely replace all of the suspension bushings at that time as well. I'll likely never go off-roading, this is my project car for now. I just think they look great and last forever.
