New From MI 2000 XJ Sport

Hi all finally able to get my first XJ so i figured it was time I join the forum. First off I’m no mechanic but my dad is and i know enough to be dangerous so thanks in advance for any help.... on to the ride... 2000 xj picked her up for 1500 was told the motor was rebuilt less than 11k ago but honestly i think their idea of rebuilt is nothing like mine doesn't look like the head was ever removed from this thing just a new water pump put on but i could be wrong..... body and everything else has 279k on her.

This was supposed to just be my "beater" well that’s what I told my wife but its a budget project/slow build but has to be a DD i drive roughly 80 miles a day so i can't build her up for 38" or anything like that just cause of gas. plan is a 3-3.5" lift and 31×10.50 unless i can go wider. weekend warrior for mud, dunes and trails.... hope she wont be too small.

as for now I'm just trying to get this baby functioning for day to day, need to fix oil leak crack in heater core rear wiper motor front sprayers some interior lights could use brakes belt squeals exhaust has a few holes and allot of moisture from pipe rust around windows, passenger fender flares..... and i keep finding more hahaha

I"ve started to strip the interior so i can do the bed liner floor (and get rid of the smell in the carpet) got hosed on a wiper motor today from a jy i didn’t buy the take it back warranty :brickwall: and it just clicks same as the old one had to bend the rear drivers side door back and get a sawzall in to cut the striker out so the door would open..... put in new locks 2 door handle and 1 latch anyway hello glad to be here and can't wait till i can say shes ready to go wheeling where a good spot in MI to go

here she is Attachment 375411

Gotcha. You'll have to make a run to Bundy Hill after you get it done.

I think it needs. 1 tons, hydraulic assist, 37s, 4.56 gears, tom woods drive shaft front n rear, 4-1 transfer case so you have double low! 4 link the whole thing cut the back off put a exo cage around the whole thing! Theirs your weekend warrior sorry wife I need a truck and trailer now so I can get my rig to the trails... lmfao jk man nice purchase! But reason I said all that is that's what id like to have my xj have when I get my new truck so I can full time wheel the beast lol
