New member with 87 Laredo 4wd
Hey guys whats going on? My name is Jeff and i live in Lake Elsinore, CA. I am now a proud owner of a 87 Cherokee Laredo. I bought it in San Bernadino, CA from a guy for 800 bucks.
To back up a little bit. I started liking Cherokee's when my sisters bf bought one from a co-worker for 300 bucks. He got one hell of a deal. He has a 88 cherokee xj with 3in lift all for 300 bucks fully running and up to date on tags and reg. For some reason i fell in love with the cherokee. I kept telling him i wanted one and that i was saving up for one. My sisters bf and his friend both have cherokee's so i hauled them around looking at 5+ different jeeps in the So-Cal area and we finally found the jeep i been looking for. They kept telling me it is fine to get a 2wd but i wanted a 4wd no matter what. If i was getting a 2wd i mite as well gotten an acura integra which is another car i like.
Since then i have put about 400 bucks into it. I got 50 bucks of gas on the way home and paid the tags and new owner stuff which came out to $180 and we got a bunch of stuff to get it running great. We got/done: Oil filter, Air filter, oil change, tranny flush, t-case flush, kit to convert and re-charge the AC and a couple other miscelanious things needed. I still need to go down to DCH and find the right door locks for this thing. For some reason Auto Zone has the wrong part number on it.
Well, sorry for the essay. If this forum does not die out i will be here to stay and be a top contributor to the forums.

Runs great. I need new U-Joints because i get a pretty bad vibration. Everything is in orking order. It just needs new seats mainly. I am a fan of nice seats so these things are trash. Any suggestions on theft protection? I know those wing windows are easy to break into and the door handle is right below them. Maybe just a hidden battery cut-off switch?
Any other questions about it are welcome.
And if you guys can check my wanted ad that would be great.
Jeff
Add: SoOo anyone know if its possible to do a interior swap? I'd like to get the 97 and up interior.Do you have to change out the harness? what is needed to be done? Cash for clunkers is going to dump a bunch of jeeps off the road. I seen like 5 cherokee's in the CFC yard next door to the dealerships.
And how hard is it to do the front end swap?

Howdy. I wouldn't worry about this forum dying out. It's to awesome / helpful to to many people to die. Plus the stickers look sweet. Totally worth $25. Plus you get +2 horsepower.
