New to the Jeep 4x4 world
We just moved to the mountains & needed a 4x4.I have always wanted a Cherokee so took the bite.So far I love it even with the work i know needs to be done.Another cool part,I can do the work my self & everything seems to be pretty straight forward.
I have noticed that the front wheels are popping when im backing out of parking spots.Just wondering if anyone has the best fix for it....Replace the whole thing or just put in new parts???????? Keep in mind im new & havent even taken of the wheels, lmao.
I look forward to learning, sharing & most of all enjoying this new adventure in my life.I look forward to you all showing me the way of least pain.
Thanks for the place to gather it looks great so far, peace.

Welcome to CF!
First try shooting some grease into those ball joints, that's my guess on the problem. Most places don't do a very good job of greasing the upper ball joints if they hit them at all. If you have a grease gun, take a nail and open up the zerk-fitting to make sure grease goes into the joint instead of on the outside as most shops do.
If that doesn't help you may need new BJ's. JMO

Thank You so much for the heads up.Im gonna go pick up a gun & some grease & hit all the zerks I'm sure it hasnt been done.Valve gasket was replaced to fix a oil leak by the guy i bought it from & I quickly saw that it is a simple cracked o-ring on the fill cap.
I am truly looking forward to getting my hands dirty.Has to be easier than working on a 98' Caddy Catera, anyone wanna buy it lol.

The best investment you can make is to pick up a Factory Service Manual on line, or a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual for your truck at the auto parts store. It'll save your butt with repair info. and torque specs. that you are going to need. JMO
