New guy here

I just found this forum today. I've got a '97 Grand and a '91 Sport.

The '97 GC is simply a 2WD grocery getter, but after a few years I'm finally getting around to building the Sport.

It's not much to look at now, but that's all about to change. I bought this several years ago to be a second vehicle and act as my kid/bike/dog hauler. After 200K miles, I feel as though it's earned the right to finally look as good as it runs...

This Jeep was stolen at some point and wrecked. Somehow, a friend bought it along the way and promptly ran it further into the ground... I bought it from him with no intentions of doing anything with it but make it run decent enough to get back and forth to the bike trails and the airport. While it runs like a top, in all this time I've only washed it twice.

About a month ago I bought a set of Moabs to replace my ratty Sport wheels. Of course once I added an appropriate set of tires - they were too tall for the worn out stock suspension. A buddy of mine and I put together a home brew of a lift kit and finally got it to where I can run 32's with no rubbing.

Since my idea of a good trail ride is atop my mountian bike - my intention is not to build a serious off-road rig as much as one that has a decent stance and runs good.

Here are a few shots of how it looks now (minus the new tires I just bought). I'll spend the few days or so stripping off all the tim before it heads to the paint booth next weekend. It's going to be done silver/black/silver - with the entire lower half being done in bedliner spray.

'appreciate that - but careful what you ask for - I've been fiddling with this thing one way or another for a few years...

After dealing with a saggy headliner for a few days, I yanked it out and have been driving with nothing up there for a few years. I just bought the material to re-do it and should have it installed by this weekend.

Here's what it looked like for a few weeks while I straighted out and replaced all the front end parts from the thieves joy ride. While in there, I also replaced the radiator, water pump, and thermostat to try and help it run a little cooler. If I can find some between now and next Saturday, I'm going to install a set of hood vents as well.

Since I'm trying to get everything done before it gets painted I just started this little project as well.

Well I like it silver/gray, but the bedliner lower might look even better. As to the headliner Mine has sagged since day one and I have just held it up with 1/4" dowel rods across the headliner in horizontal rods from side to side. I had forgotten about that problem until I saw your pics.
BTW welcome to CF from South Texas, we are all glad you found us.:)
