Talking New guy from colorado

Hi everyone! Im new to the Cherokee side of the jeep world. I have been into the Wranglers but my kids have been going more so its time for more room!

I am looking at 2 different rigs, a 93 2 door with new motor and trans. Rough around the edges but will be only for wheeling has 4 inch lift w/ 35's and will be pulled behind my Duramax.

The other is a 98 with 180k on the clock and a clean body with 3 inch lift and 31's.

Any suggestions on which way to go and why?

Thank you! Nick

I have a two door. Cuz they are the best!

You really can't go wrong with either. But if the body is already beat you have less to worry about on the trails.

Welcome to the forum!

welcome from SW CO!

1st, if you want something good for the fam, i would go 4 door (if an option) i love my 2 door but it can be a pain trying to put more than 2 people in my jeep.

2nd, if its only ganna be for wheeling, i would go for the bigger one because damage shouldn't be to much of an issue, and it just means you can get over more. (and new motor /trans good add on)

3rd, where in CO are you, I'm from Durango way down in the South West corner, if your ever in the area let me know. I love to wheel with others.

Wish you luck on your choice and have fun with your kids.

Two doors are more prone to cracks in the body than the 4 foors.

And...

With kids you'll regret a 2 door after about 2 hours.

Hi, from Kremmling colorado... I love my 96 xj sport 4 door. Makes it easier to take the family on trails. I think it will boil down to what you want, not our opinions.

I'd go with the '98 because I hate rust.
