New Guy
I had a stock 99 Cherokee Sport that my mechanic was after for two years and I sold when I was unemployed and gas was close to $4. I bought a Honda civic hybrid and a Hyundai Santa Fe with the cash and the Santa Fe went tits up pretty quick. The Honda did a bit of unscheduled off-roading a month ago and the insurance co. gave me twice what I paid for it. The plan was to buy a daily beater and to get another Jeep to take me and the telescope where the air is clear (also to lug tools and such around). Well I got the Jeep first and my plans may have changed. I figured on doing a mild lift and getting bigger tires so the fact that the suspension was tired didn't bother me. No rust, everything working, drives great, just has a bit of noise that I thought might be intake or exhaust related. Unfortunately it turned out to be ring and pinion gear. I've picked up an 8.25 that just had the brakes overhauled (full kit) and I'm still looking for the Tbird coils and S10 leafs to do things all at once. Hopefully I can get this project completed in a couple of weeks as I seem to be obsessing over it 24/7. But I'm sure none of you guys would understand that:icon_wink::icon_wink::icon_wink:

Welcome back to the realm of XJ, and congrats on finding a rust free specimen.

Welcome to the addiction.

Hopefully I wont be the last to suggest against doing the Tbird coils. Just buy the correct coils for the application. You can get nice 4.5" coils for under 100 bucks all day.

Just point me in the right direction and I'll add to the confusion. Thanks |
