New guy!
Hey all.... I've been lurking here for a few months and have finally pulled the trigger on a 98 4wd. I've always loved this truck...and now I own one!
I know NOTHING about jeep vehicles though so I am looking forward to all the knowledge I can glean from the folks on this forum.
I'm going to be using it primarily as a weekend vehicle, carrying kayaks, camping, trailer...etc. a tiny bit of daily driving. Not looking to off road it too terribly much but don't want to be outgunned when I venture out in the woods either.
Performance upgrades...NEED to haves... gas saving ideas....all advice welcome!
Thanx!

Clean looking Cherokee. You will learn alot on this site.
I noticed you said you have a trailer, so maybe you might want to look into installing a tranny cooler if one is not installed already (cheap and simple to do).
Google works great for searching this forum, just type what your looking for and put cherokeeforum after it. Its a quick way to find information on here

Well quite honestly I haven't had the time to get under it and look at what it may or may not have in the way of mods.
Tranny cooler would be a definite plus, though I don't plan on pulling much weight with it, its always nice to have.
I have noticed some tiny things with it that I need to solve..
There's no heat.
A/c needs recharged
Back hatch shocks are shot
4wd linkage isn't working (this is under warranty..getting that done this weekend)
Has a weird little 'shimmy' from rearend when I take off ( loose spring bolts? )
Tires FILL wheel well..... may need to put an inch of lift. (Although it prolly just needs springs and shocks)
Electric mirrors don't work.
Power steering cap leaks like a siv. Can't figure out what is up with that.... I'm losing power steering fluid, but its only from the top of the unit....not the casing or hoses..etc.
Other than the heat and powersteering thing its all minor little annoyances.
It runs like a scolded dog.
Which reminds me...would putting 703 injectors on it kill its fuel milage? I'm getting close to 20 now..maybe even a bit better. I know it will hurt it if I keep my foot in it but I don.t drive like that anymore...so would it be more efficient/gas saving?
Thanx for any replies...ill prolly post these issues serperately as I address them if noone has ideas here!
