new to forum-new to xj's altogether!
well,im going to buy my first xj in the morning.found it on craigslist, and told the guy if he'd hold it for me id make the 3 hour drive to get it tomorrow. that oughta be a fun way to spend the first day of the new year! 1-1-11...sounds like a good time to dive into a new project dont it?
its nothin special, its an 86 4 cyl 5 speed 4 door with a 3 in. lift. for $700 i aint expectin much, but it should still be fun to beat on!

yeah...i agree. it looks pretty goofy!
i was hoping it would flex up good with those small tires, but it doesnt..back tire comes off the ground before the front comes anywhere near tuckin up in the wheelwell...seems like something must be limiting it.i guess im gonna search the site some more to try to figure it out.
it seems to run well (other than the 4x4 not engaging). clutch,trans,t-case,engine,and rearend all seem great...way better than i expected for the money!

just disconnected it. i'll keep it and add quick disconnects since this thing will probably be driven a couple weeks a year.
