Hi All, found your forums while searching for a problem that has already happened at 65miles on the Jeep.
This is my second Cherokee (purchased a '14 Latitude and shipped it to South Korea - and it preformed flawlessly). Shipped it to AK and went bonkers thinking I needed a 4x4 so traded it for a '15 Renegade Trailhawk...the 1st winter here fooled me and thought it was overkill and traded it for a Chevy Volt - it has its place, loved the torque, quiet and smooth ride - but not practical here. What was I thinking!? haha 2nd winter here received over 5' snow and thought to trade as soon as the weather broke.
Received a more than generous offer on the Volt, and deep discounts on the '17 Cherokee and bought the red you see here...However, just 2 days and 65miles, the ignition switch clatters behind the key switch when shifting to or from park (and only when the hand grip release is engaged). I need to learn - and suspect it's tied to the transmission + braking mechanism. What high hopes I had for the Cherokee solely based on my previous experience. I've learned I do not like the ESS too.
Either way, glad to be here and looking forward to the community.
