My first XJ!!
Hey all! I am brand new to this forum and to the Jeep community all together. I've been dreaming of Jeeps since I was a kid. I will admit that back then I was in love with Wranglers but I've smartened up in recent years! lol. I'm currently living in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I was sent here several months ago for work and will be here for most of the next year. While searching for a vehicle, I stumbled across a 1989 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 2Dr 4x4 5spd listed for $650. I jumped on it immediately! After looking at it, I fell in love! Talked the guy out of it for $550 and have put in about $30 to fix a few minor issues. It still needs some electrical work and Desperately needs shocks all the way around but that's no issue. Should have the shocks all ordered and installed in the next couple weeks. It took me about five minutes after buying it to decide that I would spend the money to have it shipped back to FL when I leave here! I am definitely open for mod suggestions. I have some ideas but would love to hear what some Jeeps vets think.

looks good man...how much lift is on that?
|
Thanks man!! The kid I bought it from said 2", but I'm not real certain. I want to put a new lift on it so I know exactly what I have. Thinking about a 3" or maybe 4.5"

This Jeep looks nice! What is the engine? |
That's nice! Be wary of the 5 speed though. I've not heard too many nice things about it. Glad you found yourself a jeep and joined us here on the forums!

Thanks guys!! Glad to be a part of this great community! :)
