So I finally got the nerve to pick me up a jeep and I'm pretty happy with it. Its my first ever Jeep and its a bit of a beater but I wanted one for a project and think I found a good medium of "it runs well and still needs some serious TLC."

Its a 4-door 1999 XJ 4.0 auto 4x4. 217k miles, engine is running strong and the transmission shifts well. Interior kinda sucks, between the cigarettes and what looks like an entire box of cheezits crushed under the rear seat, I know cleaning it out is my first priority. Then general maintenance stuff, changing fluids, and all that fun stuff. It desperately needs some new shocks.

Anyways, I super excited about it! I always thought I wanted a wrangler but this will probably suit my personality and needs much better. I'm planning to make it a light trail rig for camping and such. Used to own a 05 Xterra that was decently built for offroad, but never liked the engine and it was a royal PITA to work on.

Nice Jeep. Awesome project.

I'm with you regarding the Xterra. Good looking, mechanically disappointing.

Enjoy the new adventure.
