Looking at a 98 ZJ Limited
I am new to the forum and to Jeeps. My explorer recently was totaled so I am looking at a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited to replace it. 5.2 with 140K miles. loaded with options, nearly new tires, oil is good, tranny fluid is a darker red and no burnt smell. they want $4500 for it.
Is there any problems with the 98 ZJs? I figure that they have ironed out all the problems since it is the last year of the ZJ. I am looking to use it as a daily driver and off roader.
Thanks
Tim

Welcome to the forum! i am one of the several zj fans on this forum (had a 96 with the 5.2) and as long as it has been well cared for the jeep could last you for a very long time, one of the things that seems to happen to the 5.2's is the plenum gasket goes out but i have personally seen a 97 with the 5.2 w/ original plenum gasket and it had over 220k on it so its hit or miss. It sounds like you found yourself a nice jeep but as always try to talk the price down! and once again, Welcome to CF!
