Default Just got home with my 1st. (XJ)...

I just came back from a 16hr. round trip drive to Missouri.
I think I got a great deal on this Jeep. (you tell me)
I figured this was a good place to start posting. I did a lot of research
here before I spent the $$... thanks to everyone for posting information on the board.
My wife and I have a 2004 Cherokee special edition. (love it)
We needed a 2nd car now that she is turning in her lease vehicle.
SO... I started looking at the best all around SUV I could find for the $$.
We wanted to spend under 2,500.
I found this 1996 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) 4.0 Straight -6, 200k miles
2.5 inch lift. No rust, No leaks, runs like a champ.
Paid $1200.00 cash.

Ooooh-oooh let me be first to say it...that would be an inline or straight 4.0 6cyl...not a V-6 unless someone really likes Ford engines and pulled a nasty on that Jeep. Nice looking ride you scored though!

Is your 04 special edition a Grand Cherokee? The XJ Cherokee stopped production in 01.

Welcome to CF from Buck in Western Washington state. Looks like a clean rig. Definitely a good start to a good project rig.
