It's me from San Antonio...
Seems like a simple request, but you'd be surprised... I need a good Jeep mechanic in SA. I had to break up with my old garage after our last engagement.
I cannot seem to find a recommendation for a great Jeep Mechanic/Specialist in my neck of the woods except claims in ads from dealerships. Now a dealership may be the way to go, but I do not want repair guys just trying to up-sell me stuff cause I'm a girl. I have an ’01 Cherokee Limited and intend to keep it forever—so, of course I need good advice and great service.
Do you know of any San Antonio area Jeep Mechanic Gurus?
Thanks!

Unless you have some type of warranty coverage, I'd stay away from the dealerships.
Google a search for local 4x4 clubs, make some friends, and they will hook you up with some reputable mechanics.

Welcome to CF from Western Washington state. We do have a few guys on the forum from Texas. Blue could probably refer to a good mechanic.
wish i would of asked about that too..i'm a San Antonio chick too..but just broke down and took it to mission to get an estimate/eval on my electrical issue. i got a 98 jgc. as far as regular mechanical care, i do that myself. i just am not great with the major electrical issues. I can turn a wrench.. just replaced my water pump myself. if you need some help let me know. i've taken my jeep to mission a few times and they always were good to me. not as expensive as some places. but at least i knew they know the brand. sometimes you get what you pay for. it all depends on the problem, ya know?
