Good Morning. My son saved every penny and bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport this week. She's a bit rough around the edges. No rust, runs good but a bit noisy but we're all pretty excited about it! Just trying to learn as much as possible about Jeeps as he has in mind making improvements to it.

I feel it's worth mentioning the 00-01's had a couple of things to be aware of: the head was designed with a "prone-to-failure" design on the cylinder wall between #3 and 4. Also, the rear axle is a Dana 35 as opposed to the Chrysler 8.25. The d35 is a low pinion design with less splines than its c8.25 counterpart. NOT THAT ANY OF THIS IS AN END ALL, but it's good to be aware of! Regardless, jeeps are incredibly capable machines that are relatively cheap and easy to modify, not to mention repair!
