Indiana has a new member
long-time lurker, had a ZJ I never was too crazy about, it got totalled about 6 months ago, so I got an XJ! (which is what I should have bought the first time around)
My XJ was listed in the classifieds here, but I bought it from an ad on craigslist. It's not worth a whole lot $$-wise, but I love it, and I think my ol' lady likes it even more. ('92, 179K)
I just went through my 2-week tribulation of frantically searching down a no-start issue. Seems like that is a rite of passage around here. Anyway, the fuel pressure gauge I borrowed from Autozone the first time was faulty, so I spent a lot of time, and a lot of trips to my in-laws (close to where it crapped out, where it was towed, 45 minutes away), combing over every possible scenario, and eventually solving it by replacing the fuel pump.
I've also gotten a real appreciation for you-pull-it junkyards.
All in all, I guess now I finally feel like I belong.
