Highlife- from northern Illinois
Hey, I should've done an intro about a month ago. I've been busy with my 2000 sport.
I bought a great vehicle from Miami, zero rust. 108,000 miles. Very clean.
Turned out to be too clean. It had a cracked head with low oil pressure at idle. So here's where i'm at now.
New head from Clearwater Cylinder (0331)
New crank and rod bearings (installed with motor still in)
New water, oil pumps.
New t-stat (old one was non-functional)
All the appropriate gaskets.
Now I have good pressure. I just cleaned her up and it's the best looking car I have ever owned. You should know that the MOST I have ever paid for a car for myself is $500. Now I'm driving a jeep I like and want to test off-road, but it looks so good! Tough choices. The wife and kids love it.
I was raised a jeeper. My grandfather owned a 57 ******. (see my avatar) My dream is to get that ****** back. (i know where its at, the farmer won't part with it even though it's buried in his barn)
So, I'm just like many of you. Jeep freaks who think a stiff suspension is better than a smooth ride.
Tune in to see my future mods.
