Hi there,
I've been looking at picking up a 97-01 XJ for the last few weeks, and after looking and driving 5-6 of them, I finally settled on this 2001:

155k on the odometer, but it runs great, and has been garage kept it's whole life. Body is awesome for Chicagoland from what I saw on some of the others. Mainly I wanted something for snow/hauling/towing, I'm not even sure if there is anywhere to go off roading around here, unless you count the potholes.
Not sure how much I'll be doing mod wise, but I need to pick up a hitch for it, and maybe some kind of front bumper, since I only took liability insurance on it. I already ordered the IPF H4 headlight conversion thingies, I drove this home at night and I've gotten really spoiled by the projector headlights in my car, so more light is good.
Anyways, always wanted a Jeep of some kind, and I think I'll be happy with this one.

Very nice Jeep. You will like it! My 01 XJ is the best Jeep I have ever owned. The 4.0 I6 is bullet proof. Let me know if you have any questions or need advice.

Thanks for the welcome!
Not to worry, it's slowly getting dirtier, now I just need to find a muddy field to play in for a few minutes and it will look much better.
Of course just my luck, check engine light came on over the weekend, though it's still running fine. My DashHawk only supports ODBII with CAN bus, so I gotta wait for my new scan tool to get here to see what code it is. Google told me to hold the trip reset button while turning the key to on and it would give me a code, but it doesn't seem to like me. Oh well, probably something stupid like the gas cap or similiar.
Later!
