Default hi every body

i have own a 1976 full size cherokee
a full size 1976 j 10 pick up
a 74 cj5 and a 75 cj5 and my
current ride is my 1999 tj wrangler
i got custody of my 2 sons 2 years
ago and going on trips is very cramped
with our camping gear and the 3 of us.
so there aint but one thing to do
find a fuel injected 4.0 cherokee
add 4 in lift 32x1150 an aussie
locker in the rearend and 8000 k winch and winch
bumper.my ex wife had 2 cherokees
we easily carried a canoe on top
or 2 kayaks with no problem.it
easily carried all our camping gear
problem is almost every cherokee
i have seen is auto,i prefer 5 spd
the ax-15 in my 99 tj has held up
well running 35X12:50 mudkings
i dont intend on building the cherokee up like my tj
but something more than stockneo

Wecome,

It sound like you have a great selection of Jeeps. I would love to see some pics some time...

Look for an XJ in the 91-95 era. The 4.0, 5-speed ones are out there. These Xjs came well equipped and they are all old enough now that you can get them for a song. My 91 Sport has the 4.0 HO, auto tranny and NP231. It also came with the HP D30 and a Chrysler 8.25 rear. The drive train was pretty solid. I opted for a Sport as it has none of the extra electrical crap to break while off road. You can opt for a Laredo, Pioneer, Country or Briarwood to get ant foo foo options you want.

Well I disagree with Buck but every Cherokee has it's own followers so any year will have it's fans. I like the older stuff 87-90 called Renix era Jeeps. BTW Welcome and...

Welcome - I just joined last week, and this place has already helped me immensely, so I trust you'll be able to find whatever info you need.

My Pioneer's pretty basic - only thing I've got is A/C, cloth trim and map lights. Otherwise, it's crank windows, manual mirrors, basic (non-reclining) seats, etc. So basic Jeeps of all stripes are out there, you just have to look. (To be honest, I've wanted a Briarwood since, well, forever, but they're hard to find.)

Briarwoods are waaaaay cool!! I wouldn't mind finding a 91-95 Briarwood to have as my DD.
